As much as everyone here would love to see a Kotor 3, and there still might be one being made, I wonder if it's possible they may not be working on one?
Basically because of something that Delerious Jedi said over on KFM, in a thread regarding this very subject:
Okay well... honestly I think he has some good points, and I did hear that another company had bought out Bioware or something like that.
So... I dunno. Since it seems like there has been NOTHING concrete about whether or not a Kotor 3 is being made, nothing except rumors, gossip, speculations, or guesses, then who knows? We might have to one day accept the possibility that maybe there will never be a Kotor three, despite how much we would like to see one, and how much we would like to see where Revan had gone, and to battle the True Sith, and to see if Revan and the Exile ever make it home.
On the other hand, perhaps there is still a chance that a K3 is somehow being worked on, and they just want to keep it quiet until they're ready to release it, or maybe they're struggling to figure out how the story is going to continue in the Kotor series after the utter disaster K2 turned out to be storywise, especially with all that cut content.
But... honestly I'm not going to get my hopes up much anymore, not at this point. Delerious Jedi also said that if we don't see much of anything in maybe about 18 months at most, perhaps we could assume that the Kotor series is dead. And honestly, even though this would be very sad and disappointing, I would not be too surprised at this point.
Perhaps in a way though, if anything, I wish Kotor 2 hadn't been made at all, since in the end all it did was end up being rushed and having at least half of it chopped out, leaving the game in such a mess that it is buggy, incomplete, and open-ended for another Kotor game that may well never be completed. Even though K2 had potential, and it was good in many ways... perhaps the Kotor series would have been better to simply have ended with Kotor 1--it would have had a happy ending, at least.
But meh, enough of my rambling, heh. I just wanted to express my thoughts and feelings on the subject, and just put this thread here to see what you guys might think.

Unfortunately I think it's entirely possible that the EA buyout of Bioware has put a hold on any possible K3. Unless LucasArts are willing to suddenly do business with one of their rival publishers, they would not be able to actually hire Bioware to do it.
Hiring Obsidian to do it also presents problems; Obsidian's "flair" for the big, over-dramatic stories has come around and bit them in the arse before, furthermore; the party NPCs and dialogue they usually put out; as seen by comparing Neverwinter Nights 2 to K1; isn't really what you'd expect of a KotOR-series game.
With the new expansion pack for NWN2; Mask of the Betrayer, the reviews are *again* the same; the "romance" dialogue and such is horrible and Obsidian's put too many mechanics in place in-game. Now; romance is a pretty big part of Star Wars and it was certainly a big part of K1, so I could see LucasArts insisting that Obsidian hire writers specifically for this; which might in turn cause Obsidian to be rubbed the wrong way, etc.
