I've been a fan of this song for as long as I can remember. It's such a quiet, gentle song, and I have a lot of sentimental memories attached too it. Plus I like Peter, Paul, and Mary's style of singing.
The reason I like this song the most is because of a cute little cartoon that I saw as a kid, which was based off of this song.
Honestly it annoys me sometimes when I hear some people refer to it as a "druggy song", because when you listen to the lyrics, it's obvious to me anyway that it's a folk song, and it's about a kid growing up, and how his toy dragon feels left behind at the end, heh.
