I snorted at Selena "Not ready to become a grandmother yet?" I said
She said something about she would rather throw herself on her lightsaber, and I smiled "It was sudden, but I was ready. I am trying to be the sort of feisty, bad example grandmother who teaches her grandchildren deplorable habits. I just wonder how long I have to wait until I get some for Jaina and Anakin." I looked at Jaing "How long does Calvin have to wait?"

"She said to ask you," said Rylee walking in. She was obviously finished with her hologame.
"Then ask Zekk. I'm sure he has things planned out. He probably hasn't informed Jaina yet." Jaing grinned.

I shook my head over my own wineglass "I have to find some sort of appropriate punishment for Han. For giving our children smart mouths and unhelpful manners. No one around here seems to have actual manners these days...." I said and even chuckled slightly

"Well, is Leia asserts, the smart mouths and unhelpful manners of the Solo children only come from Han, it means they come not at all from the Skywalker family, right? So Ben's smart mouth and unhelpful manners have to only come from you. I'm going to have to find some sort of appropriate revenge someday."

Selena grinned, her good humor restored. "Do you have a favorite prosthetics manufacture? I could preorder you one." She patted her lightsaber good-naturally.
Luke appeared in the doorway. "Jaing, care to take a walk with me?"

"Sure," he said, getting up. He knew what that meant. Luke's Jaing care to take a walk with me? meant Let's talk Jedi stuff.
"Be right back, guys." He followed Luke out of the room, out of the apartment complex, and into the streets of Coruscant.

They left through the door that Han and Leia not so long ago had spoken of defending with blasterfire. Looking at the swirls of color that was Coruscant's nighttime traffic. Walking down the stairs to the next story, both Jedi drew up their hoods. As a child, Luke knew, Jaing had gotten lost down in the sublevels with Jaden. No fear could be felt, so Luke went on.
"You're father surprised me, speaking of the Jedi walking down the government's halls."

Mike shot me a quick look, and I vaguely heard him say Don't be so rude! through our bond, but I ignored him. "A spar between who?" I asked. "Me and her?" I jabbed a thumb in Ailyn's direction. |
